Troy has been with the City of Weatherford since October 1996 starting as an Engineering and Computer Support Technician. He held the positions of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician and Technical Services Manager before being promoted to Director of Information Technology.

Troy currently serves as a member of the Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) for the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). He has served as a member of the Career and Technology Committee for the Weatherford Independent School District (WISD) since 1999. Troy also served as a member of the Information Technology Committee for Weatherford College.
