City Secretary

What We Do
The city secretary is an officer of the City of Weatherford. The position of city secretary is a statutory position required by State law and the City Charter. In addition to statutory duties, the city secretary serves as the liaison between the City’s administration and the elected officials. This office oversees the preparation of the agendas and minutes for the Weatherford City Council, and all council-appointed boards, commissions, and committees.

Mrs. Nowell administers the following:
  • Prepares proclamations for the Mayor
  • Production of Documents for Public Information Requests (Open Records)
  • Records Management for the City of Weatherford
  • Government Access Cable Channel 27
  • Boards and Commissions, including the issuance of Oaths of Office
  • Preparation of Agendas and Minutes
  • Enrolls Laws, Resolutions and Ordinances
  • Election Administration
